I check into Loblaws on my way home and I’m looking in the homeopathic section for Magnesium Phosphate. They have a lot of different kinds but they don’t have Magnesium Phosphate. Of course…that would be too easy. They do have it listed in the little booklet that explains what each one of them does and it’s called “Magnesia Phosphorica” but no, they don’t have that one.

I check out the health food store by my house and they have it: Magnesium Phosphate 6x

Directions? Four pills four times a day. So I have once dose before dinner and another just before bed. The results? No vibration!

Health Canada got back to me today on why riboflavin is missing from Quaker Oats:

Your email requesting information on riboflavin and breakfast cereals was referred to the Nutrition Evaluation Division. Thank you for your inquiry.

Vitamins and minerals that are lost during the processing of cereal grains can be restored and added to the final food product such as breakfast cereals. According to the table following Section B.13.060 of the Food and Drug Regulations (FDRs) thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid, pantothenic acid, magnesium, iron, and zinc can be added to breakfast cereals. The restoration is permitted only for those nutrients that are originally present in the cereal grain at significant amounts and that are removed or lost during processing. The intent is to bring the amounts of those nutrients back to an acceptable level (approximately that of the original content) in the food.

Since riboflavin is not considered to be present in significant amounts in cereals grains such as oatmeal, it is currently not permitted to be added to breakfast cereals. Foods such as breakfast cereals can also be fortified with vitamins and minerals that may or may not have been originally present in the food.

Historically, fortification has been done to address problems of inadequate nutrient intakes and to protect Canadians against nutritional deficiencies. Unlike certain nutrients, inadequate riboflavin intakes have not been identified in Canada. Thus, there was no rationale under the current regulations for allowing breakfast cereals to be fortified with riboflavin.

In March of 2005, Health Canada released a proposed policy and implementation plan for developing new food fortification regulations. It is proposed that Section B.13.060 of the FDRs be amended to provide for the addition to breakfast cereals of more vitamin and mineral nutrients, such as riboflavin, and at higher levels. The proposals for breakfast cereals are based in part on an effort to allow greater trade harmonization in this product category while ensuring safety.

Thank you again for your inquiry and we hope you find this information helpful.

Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler

Continually more and more people are turning to the Biochemic method of healing. It is easy to comprehend, easy to learn and to top it all off  inexpensive. Mineral salts are vital. We commence our story in the year 1873. The General Homoeopathic Journal publishes an article entitled shortened Homoeopathic Therapy written by the practitioner Dr. (med) Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler from Oldenburg . He provokes great excitement amongst his Homoeopathic colleagues. However, Schuessler merely wrote down and published the findings of his experiments.

Inspired by the work of the Dutch Physiologist Jacob Moleschott (1812 – 1893) who realised that phosphor is important  for the nerve cells and who coined the phrase without  phosphor no thought (Cycle of Life 1852)  Today we know the phosphate compound under the name of Lecithin, a very effective substance for memory disorders. Schuessler came to the conclusion that missing inorganic mineral salts will cause disruption to the living processes and therefore create illnesses. This results in  an inhibition of the cell metabolism. If the missing mineral is supplied the disrupted cell metabolism starts working properly again.

Rudolf Virchow (1821 – 1902) Professor of pathology at the Charite in Berlin points out in his Master work Cellular pathology (1858) that finally every form of suffering is only based on a disorder in the cells. Only the cell can become sick the cell, the smallest functioning unit of the human body.

The inorganic plant substances (agricultural biochemics) have already found their use in agriculture.   Accordingly my therapy is an analogy to the agricultural chemistry. It is exactly the same, and every farmer knows, if sick plants, when fertilized with a solution of the appropriate mineral salt can be brought to thrive, I cure the sick tissues by supplementing molecules of an inorganic salt which is homogen to that, that caused the questioned illness through its functional disorder.

More than a thousand children suffering Diptheria who had been given up for dead were cured by the use of  his Mineral therapies.

Schuessler confirmed the research results of Moleschott : A person can only remain healthy as long as he obtains the necessary minerals in the necessary quantity and the correct proportion further stating, that with Calcium, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium and Ferrum in their compound with Phosphoric acid, Sulfuric acid, and Chloride all illnesses that are curable can be cured with this method. This statement is of course true today only in a limited sense. It would be more accurate to say They help to cure all deseases that can be cured, and in particular they help to regulate constitutional disturbances.

Over many years Kurt Hickethier (1891 – 1958) a great believer in Biochemic healing methods, observed, studied and noted changes to facial skin which characterized the lack of various mineral salts in the system. He detailed this signature doctrine, which Schuessler had started to develop in his research. At a very early stage Schuessler had realised that internal metabolic disorders will reflect externally, for instance in changes to the facial skin, the eyes, nails and tongue.

The simple logic of Schuessler´s theory (proven by the Biologist Guenther Stahlkopf in 1972 )  is:

1. The human body contains twelve essential mineral (tissue) salts, a correct balance of which must be maintained in order to ensure normal cell function and the maintenance of good health

2. Any disruption to this balance and we have a situation we call illness.

3. A normal balance of these vital mineral salts can be re-established with the administration of the    deficient mineral in a readily assimilated form, which passes rapidly into the bloodstream and therefore the cells.

Contrary to popular belief   biochemic therapies are not  homoeopathic remedies but in order to possess the functional indication the mineral salts have to be potentized, this is achieved by using the rules of  homoeopathic preparation.

This form of medicine is about diagnosing which mineral salt(s) are lacking in the body establishing the cause treating by temporarily supplementing the required mineral(s) – the idea is to stimulate the cells, in order they again start to absorb their necessary minerals from the diet in order to keep up the internal consistency.

During the era of natural Sciences, these fundamentals were improved upon with the help of Biology, Medicine, Physiology and Chemistry. Nowadays they are all part of common biochemics. It is a comprehensive discipline, the knowledge of the basic legitimacy of life, where every change, illness intellectual achievement and spiritual movement is connected with a specific chemical transformation of the cells, both internally and externally. The mineral substances playing a major role in these biochemic processes. The work of the Clinical Biochemist we refer to today, is to normalise the disturbed chemical balance of an organism. Schuessler`s decision to call his new therapy Biochemic must therefore be seen as a historical one.

Cell salts. I’ve never heard of them so I hit google to find out more about them:

CELL SALTS:  They are part of homeopathy.  These are biochemical preparations that are inexpensive, have no shelf life, and are extremely useful and effective.   They used to be called Schuessler Salts, after the Doctor who first put them together.  Today, they are called “Cell Salts”  or  “Tissue Salts”.

Cell Salts come in various potencies, such as 6x, 12x, 30c.  The c’s represent a higher vibration than the x’s.  As time goes on and the earth’s (and our) vibrations become higher, we need the higher vibration.   A lower number has more of the physical substance and less energy.  The higher numbered ones have more energetic power.

According to Schuessler, these are all constituents of the blood.  They mirror the make up of sea water. There are 12 of them, they are phosphates or chlorides or sulphates of various minerals and some of the names are:  Kali Mur (Potassium Chloride), Mag Phos (for Magnesium Phosphate), Natrum, etc.  They support the nerves, bones, muscles — all the parts of the body.

For more information you can pick up “The Biochemic Handbook”, a small inexpensive book in most book stores.

Did some research today on this homeopathic remedy using Magnesium Phosphate. Now I find out that it is used for Meniere’s disease.

Magnesium Phosphate

Magnesium Phos is the best remedy for muscle spasms-back, leg, abdomen or calf. Use in the evening for a peaceful night sleep without charley horses. Relax tight back muscles. Supports intestinal health and beneficial for abdominal spasms and intestinal problems such as colitis or constipation. Magnesium Phos calms agitated nerves for pain relief of headache, writer’s cramp, sciatica, neuralgia. Use before and after dental work to calm tooth pain. Spasmodic is a key symptom and Magnesium Phos calms spasmodic coughs, hiccups, menstrual cramps.

Magnesium Phos is from magnesium, an important mineral that is involved in over 300 enzyme reactions in the body. Homeopathic Magnesium Phos goes quickly into the system for prompt relief. Studies have shown that most adults are deficient in the mineral magnesium. Refined foods, pollution, non-absorption and insufficient ability of the body to utilize magnesium in the body are some of the causes. It is especially recommended that diabetics, individuals with heart disease and those with high blood pressure have their magnesium levels checked.

If lacking in Magnesium Phos, nerves are on edge with the inability to relax emotionally (showing as anxiety, nervous disorders, depression) and physically (showing as muscle problems, fibromyalgia-even worse with a light touch, nerve sensitivity-even the skin may feel overly sensitive).

Deficiency symptoms include stress, pain, anxiety, depression, muscle spasms, migraine headaches, PMS headaches, agitation, irritability, constipation, fatigue.
Magnesium Phos is found inside the cells of muscles, nerves, bones, the brain and spine. Deficiency affects muscle fibers and nerve endings. Magnesium is one of the trio including Potassium and Calcium involved in muscle function. Magnesium deficiency has been linked with CFS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Consider Magnesium Phosphate when there has been nerve injury or damage. Speed injury recovery with Magnesium Phos. Magnesium Phos is indicated when nerve pain is shooting, darting, or spasmodic. Couple this with magnesium’s presence in the brain and you’ll see Magnesium Phos importance in neuralgias and headaches.

Magnesium Phos is the #1 mineral used within the cells for nerve pain. Indicated for migraines, fatigue, hearing disorders, Meniere’s disease, neuralgia, panic attacks.

Works successfully with other therapies. Absorbs instantly, great for people with digestion difficulties.

Magnesium Phos’ Mini Materia Medica:

Abdominal: Helpful for intestinal problems, calm spasmodic abdominal cramping.
Colic: Useful for colic with much gas & belching, without relief
Menstrual cramps: Helpful for menstrual cramps that are relieved by onset of flow. Shooting, darting pains. Person may feel pain is better from warmth, gentle pressure. Person may feel pain is worse with cold air, drafts.
Muscle spasms: Useful for leg cramps and writer’s cramp
Pain: Helpful for pain with sharp, cutting, shooting, and constricting sensation.
PMS: Useful for irritability, intestinal symptoms, anxiety, PMS headaches.

Magnesia Phosphorus may also go under the names Magnesia Phosphorica, Magnesia Phos, Magnesia Phosphorica, Magnesium Phosphate, Magnesium Phosphorus, Magnesium Phos, Mag Phos, Mag Phos, Mg Ph.

Now that I am completely convinced that my problem is related to magnesium, and yes, I’ve been down this road before, I looked back at my magnesium research the first time round. My first posting regarding magnesium was on June 25th, 2006. I added magnesium oxide to my vitamins (The one with the least absorption) and suggested it to my naturopath. She told me my magnesium was fine and it was brushed aside.

I found this entry back on July 6th for a homeopathic remedy to treat a magnesium deficiency using Magnesium Phosphate 6x. Why wouldn’t the naturopath offer to try this simple remedy instead of the very expensive hormone testing? I’ll drop into Loblaws on the way home as I know they have a bunch of homeopathic remedies.

Homeopathic Remedy

Cell Salts help absorb minerals

Magnesium Phosphate is found inside the cells of muscles, nerves, bones, the brain and spine. Deficiency affects muscle fibers and nerve endings. This shows the wisdom of using Magnesium Phosphate for muscle spasms in the back, and menstrual and leg cramps.

Magnesium is involved in more than 300 enzymatic reactions involving energy and nerve function.

Magnesium Phos, especially in low potency 6X, can help your body utilize magnesium in the body and from food and is completely safe (unlike 500 mg supplements that can cause bowel overload with resulting diarrhea). Magnesium is one of the trio including Potassium and Calcium involved in muscle function. Magnesium deficiency has been linked with CFS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Consider Magnesium Phosphate when there has been nerve injury or damage. Injury recovery will benefit from Magnesium Phosphate. Magnesium Phosphate is indicated when nerve pain is shooting, darting, or spasmodic. Couple this with magnesium’s presence in the brain and you’ll see Magnesium Phosphate’s importance in neuralgias and headaches.

Cell Salts improve the body’s ability to absorb Magnesium. If lacking in Magnesium Phos, nerves are on edge with the inability to relax.

Multiple Sclerosis Radically Improves With Simple Diet Changes
By Jim Marlow, chief nutritionist at the Optimal Wellness Center

Gwen is a 26-year-old who was diagnosed last year with Neural demyelination, associated with probable Multiple Sclerosis. Her brain MRI, done in November 2005, showed five to six spots (light gray, old ones) and a couple that were active.

The past five years were very stressful for her. She does have a history of tremors since age 13 or 14. She used to get migraines with some vision loss. She has had a severely low libido, moderate sinus problems, dry skin and fatigue.

After taking the Metabolic Typing test, she was assessed as a MIXED type. A review of her lab analysis from December 2005 identified that she clearly had been over-consuming carbohydrates and under-consuming protein. Also, her omega-3 fat and LDL cholesterol levels were very low — and omega-3 fats are critical to improving MS. A review of her Hair Element Analysis identified small but significant levels of mercury, arsenic and cadmium.

For seven weeks now, Gwen has been doing her best to follow the Prime MIXED type nutrition plan, and she continues to have a very good response to it. Because of our entire program, she reports that ALL of her symptoms have improved. She is eating very well despite her difficulty in obtaining organic foods. She reports that she has experienced complete elimination of tingling and headaches, and a remarkable reduction in the occurrence of dry skin and sinus problems.

She also reports that she has not been having nightmares anymore, so she is sleeping much better, and her energy level is much improved. In fact, she stated that “my energy level is a thousand times better than it was.”

Vaccine Induced Demyelination

Myelination is an essential part of human brain development. Nerves can only conduct pulses of energy efficiently if covered by myelin. Like insulation on an electric wire, the fatty coating of myelin keeps the pulses confined and maintains the integrity of the electrical signal so that it has a high signal-to-noise ratio. When the insulation on a wire is damaged or destroyed, the flow of electrical current may be interrupted and a short-circuit occurs.

Oligodendrocyte cells give white matter its color by manufacturing myelin. If myelin falls into disrepair, nerve axons cease to function, even though they themselves aren’t damaged. Protecting oligodendrocytes after brain or spinal cord injury might keep nerve cells intact.

At birth, relatively few pathways have myelin insulation. Myelination in the human brain continues from before birth until at least 20 years of age. Up until the age of 10 or so, vast areas of the cortex are not yet myelinated. Up to the age of 20, large areas of the frontal lobes are not yet myelinated.

Myelination begins in the developmentally oldest parts of the brain, like the brain stem, moving to the areas of the nervous system that have developed more recently, like the prefrontal lobe and cortex. Myelin spreads throughout the nervous system in stages, which vary slightly in each individual. Impairment of myelination can alter neural communication without necessarily causing severe CNS (central nervous system) damage.

The prefrontal portions of the cerebrum have a profound influence on human behavior. If an individual is injected with vaccines, most of which have adjuvants like mercury and aluminum compounds, as well as foreign proteins (some from other species in which the vaccines were grown) and biological organisms, unprotected nerves may be impacted. The argument for a role of vaccines in the development of autistic disorders hinges on these biological effects upon nerves, damaging them in a way that influences behavior and learning patterns.

Very mild vibration last night and again this morning. I had assumed this would happen but today I’m going to avoid calcium and dairy products.

Took my magnesium with potassium, B6 and vitamin C.
